Walking Group

You would be very welcome to try walking with us. Just let us know you are coming then turn up at the starting point, adequately equipped with appropriate footwear (preferably boots), warm and waterproof clothing. If you feel you need more information to check how hard the walk would be, to ensure that you would be fit enough, directions to the starting point or any further advice please contact us at

Members and visitors who walk with us are responsible for their own conduct and safety. Neither Saddleworth W.I. nor any walk leader is responsible for any accident or incident that may occur.

June Evening Walk - Thursday 27th June

Dobcross Murder Mystery Treasure Trail

Meeting point - mini roundabout under viaduct near Limekiln Cafe
Date / time - Thursday 27th June at 6.30 pm
Distance - about 2 miles

Followed by a pub quiz in the Swan at Dobcross

Haworth - Sunday 7th July

Saddleworth WI are spreading their wings and are organising a trip to walk around Haworth

The walk will take place on Sunday 7th July.

A mixture of fields, rivers, moorland and some great views over Haworth and Sladen this walk is about 5 miles and will start and end in Haworth village

This trip is not only for walkers. If you would like to visit Haworth and explore the Bronte village or enjoy a ride on the steam railway, with the option of a 1.5 mile walk from Oxenhope, then you are welcome to join us. 

There are numerous tea rooms in Haworth village serving lunches and afternoon teas.

A minibus will be provided at a cost of £15 per person which must be paid at the Members Meting on the 5th June at the latest.
